It’s important that you feel comfortable with your midwife because pregnancy is already a big enough experience. That’s why we do everything we can to support you and your baby. Do you have questions? Concerns? Are you unhappy with something? Please let us know. Ideally as soon as possible, but even if it’s something that’s been on your mind for a while, we’re here to listen. We can talk it through and try to address it together. Maybe we can clear up a misunderstanding, reassure you, or find a way to work that makes you feel more at ease. We’d be happy to schedule a separate appointment to sit down and discuss it properly. You’re welcome to bring someone you trust to this meeting.
Can’t resolve it together with us?
Or would you like help in submitting a complaint? Contact the complaints officer at CBKZ (Central Bureau for Healthcare Complaints Management). The midwife will aim to resolve your complaint within six weeks, possibly with the assistance of the complaints officer. If you’re unable to come to an agreement through the midwife and the complaints officer, you can take your complaint to the Midwifery Disputes Body. This independent organisation will investigate and determine whether your complaint is valid, and they will issue a binding decision.
